Guided Reading Lesson
This program begins with establishing the student’s reading level and their personal interests. We will focus not only on mechanical decoding but, most important: thorough comprehension. We will practice important reading strategies such as predicting and making connections based on the student’s personal experiences. Lessons will always start with something easy and get progressively more challenging. The key aim is to instill a sense of enjoyment and success around reading and to make the strategies we practice automatic.
